Breath + Body Works: Deeper + Longer/ Holds + Locks

In this next phase of using our anatomy to breath deeper, we will explore longer breath holds, body locks, and different breathing techniques. We will spend the first part of the class exploring different breathing techniques and exercises that you can implement in your daily life to improve vitality, mood, and metabolic function. The second part of each class will involve hands-on-body work, using your hands to bring motion to any restricted areas of the body and connecting to the breath in order to soothe our nervous systems.
This class is for anyone who has done Breath + Body Works: Fundamentals and would like to deepen their practice.
Find a comfortable place to set up, perhaps a cushion on the floor, a cozy chair, maybe your bed. These practices can be done sitting up or laying down.
These practices are not meant to “take you away” but rather to bring you deeper into yourself, more awake and connected. There will be time and space to ask questions.
This evening one of the things we will explore is breath holds. Please do NOT do these if you are pregnant, have a history of epilepsy, have severe COPD, or a cardiac arrhythmia/pacemaker.
